This, together with physical integration of modern solid state drives, embedded computers and robust hardware components, makes the system a logical solution on all kind of vessels.
Its internal workings are based on network-setups with servers and client computers, in fact as many as may be required. Starting with a solution with a single PC, one additional computer creates a redundant system in which breakdown is no longer an issue. These facts have proven their worth multiple times with more than 1000 successful installations.
Requirements for approval by Lloyd’s Register, Bureau Veritas, Rina or other licensing companies are integrated into the current software and FT NavVision is capable of easily and completely automating any vessel with mentioned requirements. In comparison with traditional and other systems, FT NavVision is intuitive and relatively easy to install with many more options.
To provide the necessary flexibility, the latest software methods and engineering tools are used and applied. The use of state of the art technology and “COTS” hardware supports cost effective expansion and, if needed, quick replacement of components. All components are selected for their ability to operate in an open system environment, meeting the latest standards in communication protocols.
Software updates for more possibilities and options, already possible since the last 20 years, are also guaranteed. These updates and service, if needed, can be arranged by remote access. Therefore maintenance is no issue anymore and extremely cost effective over long periods.
